Types of Assessments
Cognitive Assessments: A cognitive assessment is used to determine cognitive strengths and weaknesses and is often used to assess learning capability. A cognitive assessment can provide information about cognitive functioning and areas of difficulty. At mindhack. psychology we have adult and child specialists who can conduct assessments and provide informative reports to assist with treatment and rehabilitation for cognitive difficulties.
Educational Assessments: Children and adolescents’ academic ability can be assessed in a range of areas including oral language, basic reading, reading comprehension and fluency, written expression, mathematics and mathematics fluency. Standard assessments are used to identifying particular areas of academic strengths and weaknesses. At mindhack. psychology we have child specialists who can conduct assessments and provide informative reports to assist with school assistance for children with educational difficulties.
Developmental Assessments: If you have concerns about your child’s ability to perform everyday tasks such as talking, learning, or emotion regulation, a developmental assessment can determine if this is due to emotional, behavioural, or cognitive difficulties. Our psychologist will identify your child’s strengths and challenges including their cognitive, social, emotional, language, physical and behavioural ability based on their age and typical development milestones.
Clinical Diagnosis Assessments: The psychologists at mindhack. can perform a diagnostic assessment of child and adult mental health to evaluate common areas of functioning. These reports are often required for schools (children) or for the criminal justice system (adults). We can also conduct assessments for children with symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder or Attention Deficit Disorder. Adult reports can be prepared for the purpose of disability claims, return to work assessments, or probation and parole.
